Time to Sign Up for the 2025-26 Fall – Spring Golf Scramble

hacswuids August 23, 2025

Its Time to Sign Up for the 2025-26 Fall - Spring Golf Scramble

This year's scramble will be run the same as last year's.

This is a FUN, SOCIAL league - and a great way to meet more of your neighbors.

“The League”

  • Registered players pay $1 per round, $6 for the season.
  • 6 matches, 1 match/month, Nov thru April, each match is a 4-person scramble.
  • Each team of 2 plays with (not against) a different team each month.
  • The teams play on a different course each month.
  • Teams are made up of 2 players - they do NOT need to be mixed sex
    • Singles can also sign up and we will pair them with another singleton.
  • Two potlucks are held (Feb & May) to celebrate scores and distribute winnings.

Beware you might have to notify the IRS of your winnings; if you do well, you could win anywhere from a few cents to a few dollars.  Just kidding, this is not a big payout league, it is only for fun and the prizes are to just bring a little excitement during our potlucks.

The “winnings” are made up from the entry fees ($1/person/game).  These fees are split between the winning teams - usually people win $1-$2.  Again, not much $ - it's just for fun.

You do not need to be at the potluck to collect your winnings - we’ll put them aside and hold them for you if you can’t attend.  But we really would love your presence.

Once we have all the participants, we will develop the schedule and send it to everyone.

SCRAMBLE RULES

  1. Scheduling:  the FIRST team listed on the schedule for each month will be responsible for contacting the second team and scheduling the match,
  1. The pair of teams coordinate when they want to play.  Sometimes, a team can’t play during a certain month.  Not to worry, coordinate with your partners and schedule your round in the previous or following month.
  1. Subs are allowed for teams that can’t make a match and the only rule is that they live in South or West - they can even be on another team.
  1. # of drives/person: there is NOT a minimum number of drives required per person - however - NO MORE then 4 (four) drives per person can be used in any match.
  1. The Nov-Dec-Jan matches need to be finished by the potluck in Feb and the Feb-March-April matches need to be done by the potluck in May. You don’t actually need to be at the potluck to collect your winnings - we’ll put them aside and hold them for you if you can’t attend.
