2024 September – October AED Newsletter

I hope you are all well and will stay safe during this storm.

Yesterday we received the following AED DIRECTIVE from the Villages Public Safety Office -

  1. REMOVE the AED units from their cabinet during the storm to prevent water damage to the unit
  2. Responders should NOT leave their homes if there are sustained winds of 45 mph

Therefore, 4 of our neighborhood responders are housing our AED units during the storm so the CABINETS WILL BE EMPTY for the next few days.

September / October Soledad AED Program Update to the Neighborhood

ALERTS !

Our AED Responders were alerted to TWO CPR/AED emergencies in nearby neighborhoods in the latter part of September.  Several of our Responders did travel to the alert location but they were not needed.

Our responder volunteers get alerts to emergencies in both Hacienda South/West as well as other nearby Villages.  This is because of our participation in the Sumter County PulsePoint association - more responders could mean faster response times and better outcomes.

I have not received the latest AED/CPR statistics from The Villages.

I continue to appreciate the efforts of the Soledad AED responders and Board members thru out the summer months.

Thank you for your continued support of the NEIGHBORHOOD PROGRAM!  We are financially sound but additional volunteers are always welcome. The initial training is not difficult and is free to you thru the Villlages.   Let us know if you have any interest in becoming a CPR/AED Responder.
