2025 – January AED Newsletter

Happy and Healthy New Year!

I want to thank all of you for your continued support of the CPR/AED Program.

BOARD UPDATE

The Soledad AED Board met on January 7th.

First - I want to salute and thank Cathy Smith as she steps down from the AED Board.  She did a great job on the Board and represented Hacienda West well. We welcome Janet King  as her replacement and look forward to her input and service.

The AED Board reviewed the status of the equipment, finances and the roster of responders and are happy to report that all is well.

We will continue to provide free training to the volunteers who have expressed interest in becoming volunteer responders.

We will not be collecting any monies from any new neighbors since our treasury is healthy and our expenses remain limited.  In fact, we will be RETURNING over $700 to those generous neighbors that donated more than the $100 that was initially requested at the start f this program.  We sincerley thank them for their very generous donations but we want to be fair and do not want to maintain excess funds.

AED responders will participate in a drill to practice their CPR and AED skills sometime during the middle part of February.  Our nurse educator will be on-hand for supervision and instruction.  We will have more information for you later  and you are all welcome to attend the drill and watch our training in action.

WE WANT YOU

I will be taking a sabbatical from being your SOLEDAD AED Coordinator this year.  We will be traveling a lot and I would have to rely extensively on the other Board members  - yes even more than usual .  I’m afraid this would be very disruptive.

So I am looking for someone who would be interested in acting as the Coordinator and work with our wonderful AED Board to preserve the continuity of the AED Program.

The Coordinator works as a liaison with our Alerting Systems - both ReadyAlert and PulsePoint.  They also coordinate our very hard working and talented board members and help arrange training and drills for responders.  The coordinator does not need a MEDICAL background but organizational skills are very helpful.  Please contact any of us if you are interested or have any questions.

Thank you all again.
Questions or comments let me know.
