Book Club usually meets at 4:30 pm on the 3rd Thursday of the month at Paneras (Spanish Springs) in the back.
We had a full table Thursday afternoon for a great discussion about Diamond Eye. Consensus was we all liked it very much. You were right guys, once I got a little further I couldn't put it down. That's how I spent my Friday afternoon. Reading the Author's notes I noticed she put very little fiction into it. Amazing how other countries recognized womens intelligence and skills before our own. At Cathy's and my requests we asked that we veer away from War Stories for a bit. Reading so much of wars violence and suppression tends to be a little depressing after a while. At least for us, thank you.

The Book Club for Troublesome Women by Marie Bostwick
By 1960s standards, Margaret Ryan is living the American woman's dream. She has a husband, three children, a station wagon, and a home in Concordia--one of Northern Virginia's most exclusive and picturesque suburbs. She has a standing invitation to the neighborhood coffee klatch, and now, thanks to her husband, a new subscription to A Woman's Place--a magazine that tells housewives like Margaret exactly who to be and what to buy. On paper, she has it all. So why doesn't that feel like enough?
